The Closed-Loop Control of the Half-Bridge-Based MMC Drive with Variable DC-Link Voltage

چکیده
The modular multilevel converter (MMC) based on half-bridge modules is a power topology suitable for high-power medium-voltage variable-speed drives. However, the voltage of its flying capacitors negatively affected when low frequencies appear at AC port. This paper analyzes influence using variable DC port in machine-side MMC by implementing closed-loop approach, ensuring constant fluctuation during whole operating range. effectiveness proposed control scheme demonstrated through simulation studies and experimental validation tests conducted 7.5 kW prototype composed an induction machine fed with 18 cells.
